When painting on wood, I think of it as finding what is seemingly old, used up, or worthless, and bringing out the beauty it's been holding onto. Kinda like a puppy thats been tossed in the street, and when brought to a good home, the puppy is groomed, fed, and nurtured to good health. When I paint on the wood, I like to think its inner beauty and energy is coming out. It wasn't me coming up with a painting to put on the wood, it was me brushing away the unpaint that covered up its art.
So with this hole in mind, I brushed away and came up with Die For You, a painting holding emotion and utmost dedication to love. The cherry red lips were painted with a paint that cracks, so the lips look chapped today, in relation to the poem I wrote for it.
